I’m lucky. Sure my son is of Afro-Caribbean decent and obviously I’m not. Scotch-Irish actually but my relatives are from the Caribbean and besides the fact they love him and think he’s amazing they’re also helping all of us with some cultural additions. Namely the food. Recently we attended a Catholic communion service for our niece’s son that lasted two hours! Afterwards we went back to the house and we’re treated to some traditional island food ending with home cooked curry goat. I’ve eaten plenty of odd food from all over the world but this was going to be a first. Not wanting to be rude and wanting my son to try it as well I dished out some with some rice. One bite and I was hooked! I let my son have a bite and fortunately he liked it as well. Now comes the hard part, how the he’ll do I make the stuff?!
